Auburn Boattail Speedster For Sale

Sorry this Glenn Pray Auburn 866 Speedster has been Sold

Description:

This is a 1972 "Second-Generation" Auburn by Glenn Pray
Bodywork molded from Original Auburn 851 Panels
Desirable Early Sequence Car; Chassis no. 123 (23rd assembled)
   429 cu. in. Big-Block Ford V-8; Four-Speed Manual Transmission
Stunning Auburn over Dark Red Interior
Wide Whitewall Tires with Classic Wire Rims

As just the 23rd (number 123 , COOL number!) of the 138 “New” Auburns to be completed between 1967 and 1981, this example came into my possession as a 2nd owner in 1993. Presented in a stunning Auburn Red over Red color combination, this 866 Speedster is comfortably equipped with Power Steering, a Blue Tooth Audio System, Dual Unity Fog Lamps,  Stewart Warner instrumentation, 15'' Wheels with Polished ''Auburn 8'' Wheel Covers, Lucas Tri-Bar Headlamps, and Reverse Light.

Original am/fm Radio replaced with period Aircraft Instruments, including Winding Clock, Temperature Gauge and Compass.

The Dual Exhaust Ports from each side of the engine remain Functional like the Original Supercharged models of the 1930's, along with a locking Golf Bag Side Door! A Full Size Spare Tire hides behind the front passenger compartment, along with a Brand New, Beautiful Fitting Black Cloth Soft Top and Plexiglas Side Curtains.

Newly installed Custom Wiring Harness.

Chassis 123 is Powered by a 360 Horsepower, 429 Cubic Inch Big-Block Ford V-8 engine paired to a Ford Four-Speed Manual Transmission, with a Hurst Shifter—an especially Rare Combination, as early 866 production saw most orders fulfilled with a three-speed manual or two-speed automatic. This Desirable and Powerful Drive Train, while relatively modern compared to the car’s styling, perfectly fits the Sporty Boattail attitude that made the Original 851 so instantly famous. Bespoke Whitewall Tires are mounted to a set of Correct-Style Wire Wheels, completing the look.

25K Original Miles.

Glenn Pray Auburns do not come on the market very often!
